The first INCONCRETO award for excellence in the construction sector concludes its first edition with the awarding of scholarships to winners.
Santo Domingo, DN - During an emotional ceremony, executives from the construction company Aybar and Therrestra together with members of the INCONCRETO jury council, as well as the rector of INTEC, formally presented the master's scholarships to the first edition of INCONCRETO, the first prize for academic excellence for engineering and construction professionals.
Following a three-stage screening process and a jury with the highest profiles in the construction sector, four professionals who participated in the call to take part in this experience are today formally receiving their scholarships for master's degrees in construction administration to be taken at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
INCONCRETO is a project that will not only benefit the selected professionals, but also brought together the efforts of important industry figures who have marked the history of construction in our country, and faithfully believing that training is the pillar of a nation, we feel honored to reach this day after months of evaluations, said José Aybar, founder of the award, who also thanked each of the people and construction companies that joined together to make it possible.
The selection process, which was carried out since the award was announced in February of this year, consisted of three stages, in which eighty profiles were initially selected, of which eighty were filtered out twenty to pass through the INTEC test filter, and finally ten profiles were chosen to be interviewed one by one by the members of the award jury, and to conclude by awarding scholarships for the master's degrees.
The four winners selected in this first edition were:
- Jans Rodriguez Chevalier Cabrera
- Edwin Alfonso Reyes Acevedo
- Jennifer Castro Diaz
- Victor Acevedo
After considering the professional quality presented during the interviews and given the great impact that the development level of the profiles that were selected had, thanks to the consensus and effort of all those involved in the project, six more scholarships will be awarded for a total of ten scholarship recipients, also including extraordinary scholarships for the talents present at the activity - a great surprise for them.
- Luis Hendherson Peralta Adames
- Leticia Shantal Hernandez
- Lesly Pricilla Guilamo
- Nayib Wessin Hazim
- Ashley Marie Montilla
- Karina Maria Damian Rosa
Hugo Pérez, founder of the INCONCRETO project, like Rafael Aybar, concluded his closing remarks as follows: “We firmly believe in the education and development of our professionals. In this first edition, we managed to recruit 10 people made of concrete with muscles of concrete and bones of steel… Talents that represent the future of our industry.”
The ceremony was held at a cocktail party in the Grand Opal Ballroom at the Suites by Hilton. The event was attended by the winners and all the construction companies involved, as well as related parties and the media who came together to witness first-hand the closing of this first edition of INCONCRETO.
